Most go to a seamstress for major repairs or alterations but most neighborhoods have a sewing kit or two for minor repairs. Sewing kits usually contain a few needles, two or three spools of thread, maybe a pair of scissors and some pins. Thread can be bought from seamstresses and needles can be replaced at scavenger shops. Most sewing kits aren’t equipped for anything more than minor repairs unless someone is very adamant about learning to sew or embroider. However buying enough thread to embroider is expensive so most people stick to seamstresses for that kind of work. Scavenging teams usually keep one between them in case of emergencies (you never know when you might need sutures).
